In March of 2014, Charles W. “Charlie” McClain began assisting with the funeral home, providing excellent and caring service whenever needed. Charlie, a New Marshfield native, retired from Ohio University where he worked as a Building Maintenance Specialist in Facilities Management. Charlie was man who spent his time helping others in our community, being a member of the Constitution #426 F. & A.M. since 1988, a proud member of the New Marshfield Church of Christ, and, since 1982, was Captain of the Waterloo Township Volunteer Fire Department. Charlie loved spending his free time outdoors, was an avid hunter, and spent time with his grandchildren and watching them play softball. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
It was on January 27, 2021 when Charlie unexpectedly passed away at his home. Charlie’s absence is felt everyday by all those who held him close to their heart. Though Charlie was an excellent employee of our funeral home, we felt he and his family were much more of a piece of our own family than anything else. Charlie will forever be missed by all who knew him and we will always be thankful for him and his family.
