William E. Root
William E. "Bill" Root, 66, of Reedsville, Ohio died Monday, July 25, 2011 after a hard fought battle with Lung Cancer. He was born September 27th, 1944 in Dunbar, Washington County, Ohio and was the son of the late Robert E. Root Sr. and Opal M. Springston Root.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Sue Root Waterman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jane E. Hulderman Root and his two sons, William S. Amy Root of Cutler, OH and Thomas H. Elizabeth Root of Belpre, OH; six grandchildren, Zachery, Nathan and Kaitlyn of Cutler, OH and Ross, Dalton and Brenda of Belpre, OH. Also surviving are his sister, Carol M. Dennis of Marietta, OH; two brothers, Robert E. Root Jr. and Richard L. Judith Root both of Parkersburg, WV; a brother-in-law, William Waterman of Marion, OH and 11 nieces and nephews.
He was 1962 graduate of Parkersburg High School and had attended Barlow-Vincent School District Warren Elementary and Middle Schools. He was the owner of WWT Electric in Belpre, OH and had worked as an electrician in the Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, OH, Parkersburg, WV and Belpre, OH areas. He was a 32nd degree Mason with the Bartlett, OH Lodge #293.
Per Bill's request, he will be cremated. White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH will handle the arrangements.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Masonic services will be conducted by the Masonic Lodge #293 at 8 P.M.
Private graveside services will be held at Rockland Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
