William Henry Schall Jr.
Guysville - William Henry Schall, Jr., 87 of Guysville died Sunday, May 19, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at his residence.
Born February 20, 1937, in Rome Township, Athens County, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Henry and Etta Lonas Schall, William graduated from Rome-Canaan High School and is a United States Navy veteran. His first job was at Chapman’s Store in Guysville and he would later go on and work at DuPont for 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed working outside and not mowing but manicuring his yard. He also loved sitting on his porch swing. Daddy was quite the icon in our little Guysville community, he never met a stranger. He often went back in time to tell the kids about the old times. Who lived where, where they worked and a funny story he knew about them. He so enjoyed his grandchildren, going to Wendy’s on Saturday nights for supper, sitting on the porch drinking a beer and just a good ole time. Of course, mommy was his whole life, 66 years together, they’ve been through a lot! They were just as much in love as day one! Little Walker is gonna miss out on those stories.
William is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Sharon Hutchens Schall; his children, Cory (Shelly), Wendy (Jay), Warren (Tina) and Kevin (Linda); grandchildren, Emily, Lisa, Delcee, Charles, Josh, Adam, Holly, Larissa, Hillary and Blakee; great grandchildren, Chandler, Reed Walker, Kylee and Austin; one sister, Mary Lou; one brother Roger and brother-in-laws, Danny and Carl.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Chuck and Walter and sisters, Judy and Karen.
