Waylen E. Wamsley, 5 months of Nelsonville, passed away Friday March 1, 2024, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Columbus. He was born September 26, 2023, in Athens.
He is survived by his mother, Tiara Wamsley of Nelsonville; stepfather, Ronald Maffin of Nelsonville; siblings, Kaylee Wamsley, Samuel Wamsley, and Aubree Mesaros; grandfather, Ron Maffin; grandmother, Tammy Exline; aunts and uncles, Edie (Sam) Spears, Misty (Justin) Elliot, Carson Maffin, Austin Maffin, Mark Maffin, and Jessica Maffin; and cousins, Ashton Maffin, Michael Spears, Kylie Spears, Jimmie Spears, and Heavenly Spears.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, John Eston; grandmother, Melissa Maffin; aunt, Amber Maffin; and an uncle Richard Maffin.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday March 7, 2024, at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home - Athens, Ohio, with Pastor Phil Foster officiating. Interment will be in the Beechgrove Cemetery, Perry County. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
