Born in Meriden, CT in 1929, to Raymond and Florida Baer. She had one sister, Flora, who passed before her and was survived by her younger sister Arlene. Virginia had 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren, 3 nieces, 2 nephews, and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Virginia’s life was colorful, with two marriages, and a long career in the Insurance industry. She loved the company of handsome men, loved good music, cooking, gardening, dogs, and singing songs from her childhood, as well as playing the harmonica. Virginia was also a beautiful fabric artist having made countless blankets, gloves, slippers, and hats for friends and family. She also loved to talk about how proud she was of her children.
Although there is colorful history, both good and bad, what remained at almost 93 was the deep love she felt and shared with her children and grandchildren. The pain is gone, the soul is free, and memories remain.
Virginia will be cremated and her remains will be laid to rest in Connecticut. A memorial is yet to be scheduled.
