PARKERSBURG – Victor Chevalier Sr., age 88, was a godly man, loving father, grandpa and husband to his beloved Grace, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, peacefully after years of battling dementia.
He was born July 14, 1936, at home, in Hockingport, Ohio, to parents Rose and Roy Chevalier. He graduated from Eastern High School, retired from Ohio University as a groundskeeper and was a member of the Faithful Gospel Church in Long Bottom, Ohio.
Victor is survived by his son, Victor Jr. and Tracy Chevalier; three daughters, Vickie and Edward Tucker, Shelly Townsend, and Sabrina and Charles Boone; grandchildren, Jason Tucker and Leighanne, Zachary Townsend, Nicole and Austin Lute, Katelynn Chevalier, Isaac and Maribeth Boone, Taylor and Preston Denney, Nathaniel Boone, Dylan Chevalier and Matthew Boone. great-grandchildren, Christian, Remington, Kaislee, Levi, Riverlyn, and Lainey; a brother, Bill Chevalier; and many friends who became family.
Victor is preceded in death by his wife, Grace; parents, Rose and Roy; a sister, Mildred Elswick; and a son-in-law Frank Townsend.
Victor loved his family and will always be remembered for his kindness to everyone, his bright smile, and his love of mowing.
A funeral will be held Monday, February 24, 2025, at 1PM, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. Visitation will be held from 12PM until the time of the service. Pastor Steve Reed and Kenny Tolliver will be officiating.
