Valorie Jean Boring, 59, of Columbus, Ohio, was called home by her savior on July 19, 2024.
She was born in Columbus on March 29, 1965, to Max and Shirley (Bable) Boring and moved to Grandview Heights as a teenager. She graduated from Grandview Heights High School in 1984 and worked at Spencer Research for several years before working at Meijer in Hilliard. She became a credentialing specialist at United Heathcare where she worked for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her father and nephews, twins James and Stanley Higginbotham (at birth), and Christopher Higginbotham; and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her mother; sisters Diana Higginbotham and Lori (Jim) German; niece and Goddaughter Erin German; nephews Michael (Amanda) Higginbotham and John German; three great nephews and one great niece; two aunts, an uncle, and many cousins and friends.
She worshipped and served our Lord as a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church where she formed many friendships over the years, and was joyfully involved with the Blind Outreach Mission and Vacation Bible School.
Valorie was filled with the joy of Christ and cultivated so much love and togetherness, even in her last days. She was fiercely loyal and devoted to her family, especially her niece and nephews whom she treated as if they were her children. She had an infectious laugh and a wisecracking sense of humor that she loved to share. Before illness afflicted her, she loved to sing, cross stitch, and take long drives to the country. She was grateful for an opportunity to travel around Europe and serve as a chaperone for one of her church’s national youth gatherings in New Orleans, which was very meaningful to her. The void she leaves here on earth will be vast and she will be sorely missed by all who loved her.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 766 South High St., Columbus with Rev. Wes Hromowyk officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour before the service. Following a luncheon, the interment will be at Reedsville Cemetery.
In her memory, donations may be made to the Boring Family Scholarship Fund in the care of Asa Boring, 2481 Newbury Rd., Little Hocking, Ohio 45742, or to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. You are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com.
