The Plains—Terry Edward Bailey, 62 of The Plains, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Born August 19, 1957 in Athens, he was the son of the late Thomas and Flora Dailey Bailey.
A 1975 graduate of Athens High school, he went on to spend his life as an iron worker as a member of Iron Workers Local 172 and he was also a dedicated lead foreman at Seneca Steel in Logan. He was a longterm fire chief for the Chauncey Volunteer Fire Department and spent much of his spare time fishing with his best friend, Mark Walls.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Diane Bailey; daughters, Misty (Trevor) Carr, Kimberly Gould and her boyfriend, Jimmy Bartlett; 4 grandchildren, Andy (Haley), Abby, Will, Ryan; great-granddaughter and his pride and joy, Ava; sister, Patricia (Rick) Woodring; special sons, Rodney Dunfee and Tony Gould; and many cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral with Pastor Phil Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery. You may call upon the family on Saturday from 11AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made out to the funeral home for end of life expenses.
