Clara Shirley Wright

Clara Shirley Wright, 68 years old, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at her home. She was born in Athens, OH on January 9, 1947 to Harry and Leodas "Lody" Mercer Wright.
She is survived by her sister, Patti Wright (Llewelyn) Weaver, Grove City, OH; nieces, Dawn (Antoine) Graham, North Chesterfield, VA and Tara (Keith) Harms, Belleville, IL and nephews, Capt Jason (Alicia) Weaver, USMC, Smithfield, VA and TSgt Patrick Weaver, USAF, Sumter, SC. She is also survived by great-nephews and nieces, Jonathan Blake Weaver, Sumter, SC, Cohen Xavier, Titus Sebastian and Elia Lynn Weaver, Smithfield, VA and Honey Lynette Graham, North Chesterfield, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Jared Wright Weaver.
She was a 1965 graduate of Rome-Canaan High School. She graduated from cosmetology school in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked for several years for Steppes Beauty Salon in Athens before moving to Phoeniz, AZ where she practiced cosmetology until she received training as a surgical technician. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoeniz until she retired. She moved back to Ohio in 2002 where she lived until her death.
She attended South Canaan Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 3 P.M. at the South Canaan Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Monte McCune officiating.
There will be no visitation.
