Shirley Fay Ater Harper
COOLVILLE—Shirley Fay Ater Harper, 72, of Coolville, OH, passed away at her residence while surrounded by family on Saturday, March 16, 2019.
She was born Nov. 4, 1946 in Parkersburg, WV, to the late Perley and Leona Genevieve Little Ater. Shirley was an EMT for SEOEMS, a member of the Eastern Star in New Marshfield, Rebecca’s in Athens and the Jolly Workers Club. She attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Belpre.
She is survived by 2 sons, Michael Britton of Jerusalem, OH and Charles Harper and wife Elaine of Coolville, OH; a daughter, Stacy Belcher and husband D.J. of Hampstead, NC; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Georgia Mace and husband James of Marietta, OH and Paula Jeanine Trembly and husband Randy of Fuquay-Varina, NC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harper; a son, Thomas Britton and a brother, Herbert Ater.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on March 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church followed inurnment at Vanderhoof Cemetery in Coolville, OH.
