LITTLE HOCKING—Shirley Bowman, 75, of Little Hocking, OH, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at Arcadia Nursing Center in Coolville, OH.
Shirley was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She was active in Senior Citizens, a member of Grace Brethren Church for over 40 years and an avid quilter. She was retired from Kmart.
She was born Jan 11, 1948, in Parkersburg, WV, daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Cozart Jackson.
She is survived by a son, Garry and Bobbi Bowman; daughter, Julie Ledsome; granddaughter, Lindsay and Cody Taylor; 2 great-granddaughters, Lexi and Bailey; 3 brothers, Charles and Kathy Jackson, Leon and Kathy Coleman and Joe Jackson; 8 sisters, Leverna and Larry Hoffman, Bertha Weethers, June Oviatt, Ina Richardson, Louise Smarr, Charlene and Kenny Dawson, Linda and Louie Smarr and Becky and Steve Jackson; step mother, Martha Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Bowman; sister Alberta and brother, Leonard.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor George Horner officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, from 5-8 P.M.
