Sherry Marlene Church Leavitt Bailey, age 59, of Coolville, OH died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Marietta Memorial Hospital after a five year battle with ovarian cancer. Sherry retired from the oil and gas industry as a Secretary/Bookkeeper and enjoyed horseback riding, traveling, spending time with family, yard work and relaxing in the hot tub. She attended Vanderhoof Baptist Church of Coolville, OH.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine O. Stefanik and Harold Francis Church; Step-fathers, Sam Sheppard and Joe Stefanik; sister, Brenda Church Hill; granddaughter, Codie Ann Sams and niece, Michelle McKimmie Gooch.
She is survived by her husband, Richard G. Bailey of Coolville, OH; sister, Kay Castleberry and husband, Ed of Plant City, FL; daughter, Catherine Elaine Leavitt and granddaughter, Lindsey Robinson of Beverly, OH; granddaughter, Brenda Leavitt of Coolville, OH; daughter, Erica Sams Martin and husband, Ronnie of Parkersburg, WV; and grandsons, Austin Sams and Ryan Martin; step-daughter, Kim Sarver and husband, Todd of Plain City, OH and grandchildren, Caleb, Emily and Morgan Sarver; step-son, Michael R. Bailey and wife, Kristin of Marietta, OH and granddaughters, Emma and Kenzie Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M., at the Vanderhoof Baptist Church, 23305 Moyis Rd., Coolville, OH, with Pastor Craig Holler officiating. Burial will be in the Vanderhoof Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. also at the church.
