SHARON KAY (HOSKINS) HEIN-BAKER, age 75, passed away peacefully at The Laurels in Athens, Ohio on January 22, 2019 , where she has resided for the past two years. Sharon was born July 28, 1943 in Dover, Ohio to Grace and Robert Hoskins and was one of eight children. Sharon's siblings included, Theodore (Ted), Larry, Tom, William (Bill), Barbara (Sis), Betty and Robert (Bobby). In 1960 Sharon married US Air Force Mechanic Richard J. Hein and mothered four children. Sharon's oldest son Tracy, was afflicted by chronic renal failure and in 1979 Sharon donated a kidney to him. He still carries that gift with him today. Sharon and Richard divorced in 1981, Sharon remarried in 1983 to Lyle E. Baker. The two resided in Columbus and Racine, Ohio as well as Astor, Florida. For many years Sharon cared for mentally challenged adults in her home, allowing them to live happy lives outside of institutions. She was very proud of this. After being diagnosed with diabetes in her early to mid thirties, Sharon's health began to gradually decline. She suffered from many serious medical conditions and life altering injuries over the last several years but this did not effect her desire to put others first. Sharon is preceded in death by both parents, six siblings, her spouse Lyle and Ex husband Richard and several nieces and nephews. Sharon is survived by her "baby brother" Bobby, her beloved four children, Deborah (Hein) Osborne, Tracy Hein, Marlene (Hein) Chaffee, John and wife Susanne Hein, six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren (whom she absolutely adored). Per Sharon's request A Celebration of Life to include family and close friends will take place at Romans Road Church/Laurels of Athens, 70 Columbus Drive, Athens, OH, officiated by Pastor Barry B. Bolin on Sunday the 27th of January at 10:30 AM. Interment of Ashes will take place at a later date.
