Seldon R. Johnson
Seldon R. Johnson, 77, of Torch, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at Arcadia Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness.
He was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Portland, the youngest of 11 children, of the late Reuben Douglas and Luta Naomi Aumiller Johnson. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force, and later retired from The Bureau of the Public Debt after over 33 years of service. He was the pastor of many local churches for over 40 years, and was a member of Vanderhoof Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Connie Matlack Johnson; three sons, Mark fiance', Amanda of Belpre, Keith Anna of Nelsonville and Clay Kelli of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Hannah and Benjamin Johnson of Nelsonville; one sister, Freda Charles Fuchs of Parkersburg; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers; and three sisters.
Friend my visit the family 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio, prior to the service at 1 p.m. Pastor Craig Holler will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Torch Cemetery in Torch, Ohio.
