Sally Jo Burch

     Athens - Sally Jo Burch, 81, of Athens, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. 

     Born December 26, 1941, in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Virgina Marquis Fulton. Sally was a 1960 graduate of Athens High School.  She was employed by the City of Athens where she worked in the Water Department for over 30 years.  In her spare time, she was a member of the Athens and Albany Seniors, enjoyed shopping with her friends and spending time with her family.  Sally was a member of the Airline Church of Christ. 
     She is survived by two daughters, Maryjane Burch (Jeff Hall) and Melissa (Andy) Trout; one brother, David (Jane) Fulton; many close and dear friends and her little fur baby, Ginger Jo.
     Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clair Eugene “Sonny” Burch in 2014; one brother, Richard M “Dick” Fulton Sr and a sister-in-law Mary Halbirt.
     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 22, 2023 at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens with Rev Willard Love officiating.  Burial will follow in the South Canaan Cemetery.
     Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home.
