Ruby J Chapman

ATHENS – Ruby J. Chapman, 83, of Athens, died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born August 4, 1934 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Malissia Boggs Elswick.
Ruby attended Shade High School and worked for Woolworths for over 20 years and then retiring from the College Book store after 19 years of service. Ruby and her husband were life members of the Golden Wings CB Club and also attended the Church of Christ.
Ruby is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul M. Chapman; three siblings, Paul (Marie) Elswick of Circleville; Katherine Fannin of Grayson, Kentucky, Linda Rhodes of Shade; a stepsister, Verna (Bob) McCoy of The Plains; and many nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Chapman; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Love officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens.
