Ronald Eugene Carr

August 20, 1949 — September 8, 2023

Ronald Eugene Carr, 74, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, September 8th, 2023. Ron was a graduate of Green High School class of 1967 where he played lead guitar with The Princetons. He attended The University of Akron and was awarded a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology. He married the love of his life, Constance Weidner, in 1970 and built a beautiful home in Johnstown, Ohio where they raised their two children: Nancy and Paul.

As an Engineer, Ron was a long-time employee of Toledo Scales and an invaluable employee at M Engineering where he was an honored member of the leadership team. 

Ron was a faithful and longtime member of the Johnstown United Methodist Church and a current member of The Plains United Methodist Church. Ron held an Amateur Radio License KB8VUN.  He was also a very active member of the Masonic Fraternity where he was Past Master at Center Lodge #86, newly an accepted member of Paramuthia Lodge #25, and honorary member of Cary Grove Lodge #1157 where he raised his son to Master Mason.

Ron was an active member of the Porsche Club of America.  He was President of the Mid-Ohio Region Porsche Club of America.  He was also appointed Zone 4 Representative 2014, Procedures Chair 2022. Ron and Constance also participated and enjoyed showing their various cars at multiple Parades and events around the country.  Ron was also a dedicated member who mentored, encouraged, tolerated, and deeply enjoyed the camaraderie of the Buckeye Land Sharks 928 family. 

Ron was always willing to give his time and wisdom to others. Ron was an amazing father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and trusted advisor.

He is survived by his wife Constance; daughter Nancy (Bryan) Baur; son Paul (Vanessa) Carr; and granddaughter, Alexandra Carr. He was preceded in death by his four siblings, Maxine Miller, Ilene Matheny, Kenneth Carr and Patricia Hartline; parents, Georgia and Paul Carr; and many other beloved family members. 

Services are entrusted to Hughes-Moquin Funeral home in Athens, Ohio where calling hours will be on Tuesday, September 12th 2023 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a Masonic Service at 4:00pm. Graveside services will be the next day, Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Hiney Hill Cemetery in Linn, West Virginia beginning at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Foundation https://diabetes.org/ or to Ohio Health Hospice https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/.
