Roger A. Ritchie

 REEDSVILLE—Roger Allen Ritchie, 86, of Reedsville, OH, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at his residence.

 He was born Oct. 18, 1938, in Minersville, OH, son of the late Carl Ritchie and Freda Fell Ritchie. Roger was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea; a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #18 in Columbus, a farmer and a former Orange Township Trustee with 28 years of service. Roger took great pride in taking care of his roads.

 He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Counts Ritchie, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1965; 2 daughters, Alice Ritchie and Amy Ritchie (Rodney Beegle); 2 grandchildren, Kimberly (Tyler) Dunham and Kayla (Travis) Dunham; 4 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Emmett, Natalie and Avery; 3 sisters-in-law, Janice Weber, Aurelia Jones and JoAnn Ritchie and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bob (Dorothy) and Larry Ritchie; 2 sisters, Helen (Ray) Barber and Nola (Dutch) Chevalier; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Louise Jackson and Edwin Counts; brother-in-law, David Jones and nephew, Oris McCloud.

 The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Ohio Health Home Reach Hospice in Athens for the wonderful care given to Roger and his family.

 Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at White Funeral Home in Coolville with Mark Mitera officiating. Burial will follow in the Meigs Memory Gardens.

 Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, from 5-8 P.M.
