Robert Lee Varner

Robert Lee Varner, 69 of Athens, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital. Born June 23, 1953 in Athens, he was the son of the late William Milton and Janet Lucille Dowler Varner.

Robert loved tinkering on things in his garage, especially lawn mowers. He enjoyed country music and always wore a smile.

He is survived by his sisters, Rebecca Bailey, Connie Varner, Lisa (William) McCannon; brother, James (Merry) Varner; best-dog-friend, Tinkerbell; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis Varner, Gary Varner; sister, Sarah Varner; nephew, David Varner; and niece, Melissa Varner.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where a funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 1PM with Pastors Larry Swart & Barry Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in New Marshfield Cemetery. Friends and family may call upon the family on Tuesday from 11AM until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with end-of-life expenses.
