Robert E. Gibbs, 81, of Reedsville, OH passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 18, 2014 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.
He was born March 31, 1933 in Hockingport, OH son of the late Harry Ashley and Freda Owens Gibbs. He was a retired sheet metal worker with Local 24 in Columbus, OH and a lifetime member of Forked Run Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doris Reed Gibbs; 4 sons, Ed and Peggy Gibbs, Bryan Gibbs, Mike and Jennifer Gibbs and Pat and Jacqueline Gibbs; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Virginia and Robert Moore and Nancy and Bill Bobo; a sister-in-law, Christell Gibbs; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Clerc and David; and 2 sisters, Clarice and Helen.
Services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Pastor Rob Combs officiating. Burial will be in the Randolph Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
