Robert “Bob” Burke
COOLVILLE—Robert S. “Bob” Burke, 78, of Coolville, OH, passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2020 at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH.
He was born Jan. 4, 1942 in Waynesburg, PA, son of the late Robert and Virginia Swift Burke. Bob was an Army Vietnam Veteran, an avid camper and he retired from UPS, where he was a driver for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0888 in Delaware, OH and the VFW Post 970 in Barre, VT.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Gay Ann Douglas Burke; daughter, Lori and Jeff Amos; son, Randy and Sharla Burke; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Alex and Cara Amos, Paige and Morgan Denney and Reagan Burke; sister, Joyce Schultheiss; brother, Ken Burke; brother-in-law, Richard and Joyce Douglas; 2 sisters-in-law, Joyce Burke and Barb and Mike Long and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Burke; brother, Jerry Burke, sister, Virginia Jean Burke and his father and mother-in-law, Hank and Eleanor Douglas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Mike Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Meigs County Memory Gardens, where military services will be conducted. A meal and fellowship will follow the graveside service at the Ewing-Schwarzel Family Center, 114 2nd Street, Pomeroy, OH.
Visitation will be held Monday, from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home and also an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
