Richard Ivan "Dick" Welch
FLORIDA--Richard Ivan "Dick" Welch, 77 of Venice, FL, formerly of Culer, OH, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017.
He was born Nov. 11, 1939 in Cutler, OH son of the late Ivan and Reva Stover Welch. Dick was a 1957 graduate of Bartlett High School and retired from the Operating Engineers Local #3 in Columbus, OH. He spent the last 20 years of his life in Venice, FL and loved bowling, deep sea fishing and all sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Dick is survived by his wife of 21 years, Doris Pierce Welch; four daughters, Tamara and James Blair, Janet and Jeff Murray, Lori and Bryan Winkler and Kim Welch; eight grandchildren, Dustin (Leslie), Brandon, Jeremy (Kylie), Aaron (Sara), Trevor, J.C., Kurtis and Kyle; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Dallas (Wanda) Welch; three sisters, Jean Mayle, Sharon (Howard) Matlack and Diane (Ralph) Dunfee; sister-in-law, Darlean Boyer Welch; special friends, Tom and Denise Royer; several nieces, nephews and many good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Curt Welch and a brother-in-law, Tom Mayle.
A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH with Art Yost officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, from 11 A.M. until time of service.
