Richard Alvin Smith, 89, of Reedsville, OH passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at his residence.
He was born April 15, 1921 in Reedsville, OH son of the late Clyde and Amanda Chaney Smith. He was an Army Veteran and a Laborer at Union Carbide/Elkem Metals.
He is survived by 3 sons, Ralph R. Ethel Smith, Richard R. Georgia Smith and Carl L. Smith; 3 daughters, Linda Glenn Robertson, Sandy Kenneth Bolt and Judee Melvin Dailey; a sister, Lynn Taylor; a brother, Horace Smith; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Green Smith; 2 sons, Harold and Timmy Smith; and a daughter, Connie Griggs.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Sandhill Cemetery, Long Bottom, OH, with Rev. Helen Kline officiating.
