ATHENS – Richard A. “Buzz” Grim, 62, of Athens, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family and closest friends.
Born January 9, 1955 in Athens, he was the son of Glenna Yeager Grim of Athens and the late Richard F. Grim.
Buzz owned and operated his own trucking company, Buzz Grim Trucking, and is famously known as “Hollywood”. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed river life, boating and storytelling at Lodi Landing, Hockingport Ohio. Buzzy was a passionate connoisseur of Bud Light and always happy to share a drink or help a friend. During times of leisure, he most enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and being their papaw, papoo and grandpa.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Chris; five children, Tracy (Donald) Russell of Athens, Jazzma Grim of Nelsonville, Chelza Grim of Albany, Jenny Metts of Albany, Dan Metts of Athens; eight grandchildren, Tyler and Alison Russell, Rileigh Ashley, Cameron Powell, Caleb Vale, Bradley, Brooklyn and Maddox Metts; two sisters, Rita (Ralph) Withem of Athens, Robin (Fred Wooten) Krivesti of Athens; sister in law Kathy (and Ben) Humphries of Odessa and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. A.J. Stack officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery.
