Rheta Creeger

Rheta L. Creeger, 72, of Coolville, OH passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, Athens, OH.
She was born September 20, 1941 in Coolville, OH daughter of the late Russell and Mary Belle Bentz Cody. She was a member of Coolville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Coolville Volunteer Fire Dept. Womens Auxillary. Rheta was a 1959 graduate of Carthage-Troy High School and graduated from Mountain State Business College in 1961. She worked in the Treasurers office at Ohio University for 4 years and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Coolville and Belpre with 30 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ivan Creeger; a son, Tim Creeger of Vienna, WV; a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Scott Varney of New Albany, OH; a step-daughter, Melissa Meeley; 4 grandchildren, Alan, Justin, Samantha and Elizabeth; a great-grandson, Jack and a sister, Jane Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Owens and a step-daughter, Lamarsha Payne.
A memorial service will be held at at noon on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Coolville Cemetery with Pastor Katherine Riley officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH.
