Ray Barber Jr., 71, of Long Bottom, OH, where he resided with his daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Ross Wells, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg, WV.
He was born Nov. 14, 1937 in Reedsville, OH son of the late Ray Barber Sr. and Bernice Virginia Reed Barber. He was a riverboat deckhand and an avid hunter.
He is survived by a daughter, Juanita and Ross Wells; 3 sons, Nicky and Marlene Barber, Shawn and Ashley Barber and Josh Barber; a step-daughter, Renee Barringer; 4 sisters, Doretta Brown, Shirley Wells, Carolyn Morris and Deborah Channels; 2 brothers, Ben Barber and Mitchell Barber; 10 grandchildren, including a granddaughter that was his aide, Amanda Wells;16 great-grandchildren; and a special friend and Home Health Nurse, Amy Baker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jim and Jerry Barber; and a sister, Judith Ann Barber.
Friends may call at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Saturday from 2-4 P.M. At Ray's request, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.
