Rachel Elizabeth Batty

AMESVILLE - Rachel Elizabeth Batty, 44 of Amesville, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital Athens after a lengthy health battle. Born October 15, 1980 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Deborah Libengood Duffy & the late Gary E. Batty (May 3, 1987).

A graduate of Hocking College's Massage Therapy program, Rachel had a passion for helping others through medical massage. She loved her job, most recently at WellWorks through Ohio University. Her academic accomplishments were a proud point of her life, where she also achieved a bachelor's degree from Ohio University. Outside her academic and professional endeavors, Rachel loved to cook, garden, and watch movies. She had a love for all animals and couldn't wait for Halloween each year. She often would begin Halloween decorating in August! Her happy personality will be forever missed.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her fiancé, Kenner Sims; brothers, Mark Duffy of Dayton, Kevin Duffy of Noxon, Montana, John D. Duffy, Randel & Elizabeth Sims, Doug Batty, Dennis Batty, and many additional family members including her Toledo cousins.

Besides her father, she is preceded in death by her maternal & paternal grandparents and her beloved dog, Waylon.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes Funeral Home where a memorial service will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 1PM. Visitation will also be Saturday, from 12PM until the start of service.
