AMESVILLE – Philip D. Kasler, 78, of Amesville, died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at O’BlenessMemorial Hospital.
Born December 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Dean O. and Virgene Ellis Kasler.
The world lost a wonderful man. He was a faithful and loving husband, an amazing father and mentor and a fun and involved grandfather. He was a 1958 graduate of Amesville High School and retired as a rural mail carrier for the Amesville Post Office. He was A US Army Veteran and a life long Amesville Area farmer and livestock breeder.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sara; three children, Ben (Kelly) Kasler, Brad Kasler, Ann (Todd) Fredricks, all of Amesville; seven grandchildren, Adam, Mariah, Eli, Luke, Shane, Jenna, Gabe; one great granddaughter, Annabelle; and a brother, Paul (Eleanor) Kasler of Lancaster.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Leanna Kasler; and a grandson, Joel Fredricks.
Services will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev.’s H. Willard Love and Curt Cable officiating. Burial will be in Amesville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM and Wednesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Athens County Food Pantry or Good Works.
