Mona Rae Sheppard

Mona Rae Sheppard, 74, of Athens, died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Born August 20, 1947 in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Vera McNutt Mullins.

She was a graduate of Athens High School. She was the most loving mother and grandmother, her family was everything to her. She had an unwavering faith in God. She enjoyed the little things in life, morning coffee with her sister, watching the boys play hockey, and going on jeep rides. She loved her grandkids with all her heart. Some of her happiest days were spent, recently, with her youngest grandson, Riot whose silliness rivals her own. She loved to laugh and she had the best giggle. She lived a very simple, but full life. Everyone that knew her, loved her. She truly was the best.

She is survived by two children, Kelli (Roger) Jones, Robert (Rachel Morley) Sheppard; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a sister, Janelle Mullins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Krista Hine; and a sister, Patricia Streets.
