ATHENS – Michael George “Butch” Brozak, 68, of Athens, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Logan, Ohio. Born December 27, 1948 in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late Mike and Verdelle (Stephenson) Brozak of New England. A 1967 graduate of Rome-Canaan High School, he worked 8 years for Highway Paving, 25 years as a route driver for Kerr Distributing Company of Athens, and 15 years for Forward Air Trucking. He was also a member of Paramuthia Lodge No. 25, and the Shriners of Athens County and attended the First Baptist Church of Athens. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Brozak; four children, George Brozak, Lisa Brozak, Kyle (Ashley) Brozak, and Marianne (Weston) Dunn; seven grandchildren, Jamie Brozak, Phillip Brozak, Dwayne Thomas, Alex Brozak, Nathan Brozak, Logan Dunn, and Luke Dunn; three brothers, Dennis (Joyce) Brozak, Donald (Karen) Brozak, Greg (Janie) Brozak; a sister, Brenda (Larry) McPherson; three stepchildren, Brent A. (Heather) Smith, Tanya R. (David) Dunfee, Jennifer J. (Guy) Hamilton; four step grandchildren, Adriahna Smith, Wyatt Dunfee, Adam Hamilton, Abby Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Michael Anthony Brozak; a grandson, Michael Anthony Brozak; and his grandmother who helped raise him, Addie Stephenson. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Athens with Rev. James H. DiFilippo officiating. Burial will be in Canaanville Cemetery.
