Maxine Linscott
GLOUSTER—Maxine Linscott, 98. Of Glouster, OH, passed away Jan. 1, 2021 at Hickory Creek Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 5, 1922 in Athens County, Maxine is the daughter of the late Leland and Lucille Thompson.
Maxine worked at Jacksonville-Trimble School for several years before moving to Somerset, Pennsylvania, where she retired as a secretary from the Somerset Area School District.
Maxine was a member of Order of Eastern Star and the Calvary Methodist Church of Somerset, PA.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Tom) Hardy of Glouster; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Linscott of Grandville; six grandchildren, Randy (Chris) Linscott, Ken (Pam) Linscott, Stacey (Scott) Shamhart, Sara (Jim) Wright, Tom (Mindy) Hardy and Shelly (Jerry) Lackey and several great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Linscott; a son, David Linscott; three sisters, Norma Guinther, Mary Lee Poppe and Ruth Ann Caldwell and daughter-in-law, Janice Tolliver Linscott.
A private burial will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, OH.
A memorial service announced in the Spring.
