Matthew E. Wolfe

September 4, 1964 — December 10, 2021

Matthew E. Wolfe, 57 of Athens, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, December 10th, 2021. Matthew, who went by Matt was born on September 4th, 1964 and raised in Athens, Ohio with his parents Miles and Lavonne Wolfe and twin sister Mary Ann Brooks. Matt was a master carpenter, who built many homes in the surrounding Athens towns. He was extremely talented, organized and meticulous. He was a hard worker and truly a jack of all trades. Matt had his struggles, and was working on turning the corner and building his life back up. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, and working on new projects, remodels and cabinetry.

He is preceded In death by his father, Miles Wolfe.

He is survived by his mother, Lavonne Wolfe; sister, Mary Ann (Tim) Brooks; children, Courtney (Nicholas) Trott, Cameron Wolfe, and Avery Bailes; his grandchildren, Aleanah Trott, Addison Trott; nieces, Brandy Brooks, Heather Brooks, and Felicity Brooks; and his close friends JD & Kim Hayden, Mark Abdella, Bill Jewell, Herman Carson, Joel Laufman and many more.

A service will not be held, as many know this is not what he would have wanted. His loved ones and friends can remember his love for Harleys, Billy Joel, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Calvin Kline Obsession Cologne, and spearmint gum. They can remember his laugh and bold sense of humor. He was a man of fewer words, but when he spoke you knew it. He can be remembered for his love of labeling, literally everything, and his obsession for paper towels. He will be missed by all who loved him!

Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home will be handling his arrangements, along with his three children. Any questions can be directed to the funeral home where friends and family can also leave a message of sympathy at www.hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.
