Mary Ida Wise

Mary Ida Wise, 85, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away May 13, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. Born in Lottridge, Ohio, Mary was the daughter of Pearly Rankin Castle and Marie Branch Castle. She graduated from Carthage-Troy High School. Mary was a homemaker who loved to cook and quilt and was an excellent seamstress. She also loved to camp and travel. She attended the Little Hocking Church of Christ.
Mary was a very loving mother and grandmother. Her survivors include: a son, Leslie (Linda) Wise of Guysville, Ohio; a daughter, Debra Surbey of Belpre, Ohio and a daughter-in-law, Sarah Wise of Glouster, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Zachary Wise, Mitchell Wise, Nicole Meske, Greg Surbey, Jeremy Wise, Joshua Wise and Jamison Wise; twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel C. Wise; a son, Jon Wise; a great-grandchild, Cheyenne Wise; a sister, Clara Lake and a brother, Herman Castle.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio with minister David Newberry officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Monday. Interment will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
