Mary K. Tolliver
JACKSONVILLE—Mary K. Tolliver, 95, of Jacksonville, passed away on August 5, 2022, at her home of 66 years.
She was born on July 13, 1927, the daughter of Fred and Flossie McClelland in Greens Run. The family later moved to True Town and she attended Chauncey-Dover School where she graduated. She started working first at a local Drug/Sundry store until she became a cashier at Krogers in Athens, where she stayed for 16 years. Next, she worked at the Top Value Stamp Store, for several years. By this time, she decided to work for herself and started selling monuments from her home and also became the local Avon lady. She later moved the monument business to Athens. About the time she turned 80, she started and managed The Corner Pizza Parlor for 5 years. She continued selling monuments in Athens until she was 90. After retiring, she started mowing her own grass, reading books and doing word search puzzles. She was on The Old Settlers Reunion Committee for over 25 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW #9866 Ladies Auxillary and the Taylor Ridge Ladies Aide.

Mary is survived by a son, Jeff Tolliver and partner, Doug Patterson; two grandsons, Randy (Chris) Linscott and Ken Linscott; four great-grandkids, Chelcie, Zack, Austin and Max plus two great-great-grandkids; two nieces, Kathy (Frank) Liskey, and Mary Beth (Terry) Everett and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Tolliver, 84, in 2010; daughter, Janice (Dave) Linscott, 51, in 1997; sister, Bonnie Wilson Brunton; brothers-in-law, Harold Wilson and Bill Brunton; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Jim Kinnear; two twin nephews, Jerry and Terry Kinnear; two nieces, Brenda (Mick) McClelland and Connie (Carl) Kiado.
There will be graveside services only at 2 P.M., Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at the Maplewood Cemetery in Bishopville.
