Coolville – Lucy Helen Gibbs Deeter, 95, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2012. She was born February 18, 1917 to the late Charles Franklin Gibbs and Helen Augusta Maxon Gibbs. Mrs. Deeter was a long time residence of Coolville. She married the late Rev. Roy Edwin Deeter on August 21, 1936.

She was a graduate of Carthage Troy High School. She was homemaker, Sunday School Teacher, pastor's wife, a hospital volunteer, member of the Troy Township Senior Citizens, participated in the Athens County Senior citizens, Ohio District Director for Wesleyan Women for 10 years, an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the Whites Chapel Wesleyan Church. Her desire in life was to serve God faithfully.

She is survived by daughters Carolyn Bowser of Jacksonville, Florida; Martha Sue Herb Matheny, Coolville, Ohio; and Faith Willoughby, Sweetser, Indiana; five grandchildren, Darletta Martin Martinez, Dawnita Oscar Toledo, Nathan Craig Matheny, Diana Larry Ervin, Charity Allen Herring, and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Roy Deeter; her parents, Charles and Helen Gibbs; brothers Harry and Dale Gibbs; one sister, Mary Becker; and two sons-in-law, Robert Bowser and Dennis Willoughby.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M., Sunday, September 23 at the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, Ohio. A service of Celebration will be Monday, September 24 at 11:00 A.M. at the Whites Chapel Wesleyan Church, 52270 Rice Run Road, Coolville, Ohio.
