Lewis "Lew" Gillian Sr.
Lewis "Lew" E. Gillian Sr., 65, of Coolville, OH passed away early Saturday morning, March 28, 2009 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.
He was born March 2, 1944 in Coolville, OH and he was preceded in death by his parents, William Bill and Ruby Gillian and a brother, C. Richard Dick Gillian.
He was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers Union for 32 years.
Lew had a passion for racing as an avid fan and car owner. His presence in MOV Dirt Track Racing will be deeply missed by all who knew and respected him.
He is survived by a brother, Leon Doc Gillian Anne of Coolville, OH; sisters, Carol Dunfee Harry of Cincinnati, OH, Donna Russell Glenn Reed of Coolville, OH, and Linda Chewning Abby of Jacksonville, FL; mother of children, Carolyn Marie Gillian of Coolville, OH; sons, Lewis E. Ed Gillian, Jr. Michelle of Coolville, OH, Phillip Lee Gillian Amy and Jammi Shea Gillian Tara of Tuppers Plains, OH; six grandchildren, Hayley, Ryan, Jordan, Jason, Paige and Drake Gillian; his wife, Marilyn J. Gillian; three step-children, Jim Swain Kristy, Jerry Swain Cathy and Janeen Smith of Tuppers Plains, OH; five step-grandchildren, Jacob Swain, Amber Swain, Heather Robinson, Aaron Smith of Tuppers Plains, OH and Cindy Rollyson of Parkersburg, WV; and eleven nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 1 P.M., Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Pastor George Horner officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
