ALBANY—Kurt Hermann Glaser, II, 73, of Albany, OH, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1950, in Detroit, MI, son of the late Kurt H. Glaser Sr. and Charlotte (Wadewitz) Glaser. Kurt was a 1969 graduate of Northville High School, a 1976 graduate of Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MI, where he earned an Associate Degree in Metallurgy and a 2005 graduate of Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH, where he earned an Associate Degree in Ceramic Engineering. His working career included the steel industry, powder metal and aluminum diecasting. Kurt became a member of the Albany Village Council in 2021 and his hobbies included beekeeping, tinkering with ideas to improve batteries and controlling global warming.
He is survived by his wife Janet Lamp Glaser; daughter, Erin Glaser (Dion Conley); stepdaughters, Karol Halbirt (Syed Rumin), Anna (Dave) Driggs and Rebekah Halbirt (Tim Kirkendall); step-grandsons, Ethan & Elias Driggs and Asad & Zayn Rumin as well as his 4 beloved cats, Marianne, Moxie, Dot and Bitz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and the mother of his daughter, Karen Six Glaser.
A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Hughes Funeral Home in Athens, OH.
The family will be accepting family and friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service
