Kiah Gail Smith, 48, of Athens went to be with the the lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Born Jan 3, 1974 in Athens, Ohio, Kiah is survived by his sons Kiah Elijah Smith and Kruz Anthony Smith. Beloved by his family Patricia Sands (mother), Gail Russell Smith (father), Angel Deddens and Tonya Porter (sisters), Shay Smith (brother) Diane Smith (step mother) Michelle Smith (former wife) along with his many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His sons, Kiah and Kruz were Kiah’s whole world. He did everything for them: protected them, gave them strength, and raised them to be men. Kiah gave his sons a mentality that will live on in them.
Kiah had Christian faith and instilled in his sons how important God is and how important having a relationship with God truly is.
He taught them how to be tough, how to be strong for others, and lessons that they will use for the rest of their lives. Making them mentally strong enough to take on whatever life is going to throw their way. He taught by example as well as through his words. If he was going through something he ensured that a lesson was going to be taught to them. He seized every moment he could to make sure they would thrive in this world.
Everything he did was for Kiah and Kruz. He wanted nothing more than to make his boys happy no matter how he felt and no matter what he was battling. Kiah and Kruz were his top priority from the second he knew he was going to be a father. He was so proud of the two children he raised to men.
He cherished the obligation to his children that he loved so much. If Kiah had knowledge of how to do something and his boys were around it was used as a teaching moment no matter how much longer it was going take to complete the task.
Kiah was so happy with his family and friends. God knows how many stories each of them have that will bring a smile to all of their faces.
Kiah was very passionate about motorcycles and four wheelers. He was a very talented rider. Anyone who rode with him or talked about bikes with him knows how much he loved them.
Kiah loved the warm weather. He loved to kayak; he went by himself, with his boys or with his friends. He was always gonna have a good time.
A Celebration of Life is being planned in his honor. Date and venue to be announced.
