Keatyn William York, 3 years 5 months, of Shade, Ohio, gained his "AMAZING" angel wings on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at 11:53 p.m. at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Athens County on Friday, June 1st, 2018. The accident also took the life of his rock and best buddy, Joshua Paul “Daddy Josh” Kauff." Keatyn and his Daddy Josh enjoyed spending quality time together, which they loved and always ended their day with a "DRIVE BY". Keatyn spent the last several days of his life at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Prior to that, he enjoyed playing games, spending ALOT of time with his mommy, going to the barn with his mother to see the animals, playing with his goat Jeebes, having water fights with his siblings and cousins, riding his "tractor" bicycle, playing transformers with Daddy Josh, watching "SFIDERMAN" (Spiderman), and he loved playing on the swing-set. Keatyn was a very loving and happy child who was very loved and smiled most of the time. He was a very smart little boy, knowing his ABC's and counting to 20 by the age of 2.
Keatyn is survived by his "BEST FRIEND" and loving mother, Amber M.York, of Shade, Ohio; older brother, Landyn Ray Douglas Wandling, and sister, Kayanna Marie Wandling, both of Shade Ohio, who he spent hours playing with loved very much; Daddy Josh’s children, Tesla Renee Kauff and Joshua Isaac Kauff, of Pomeroy, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Gary R. and Karen K. York, of Shade, Ohio; and maternal great-grandmother, Helen Huston, of Van Wert, Ohio;
He is also survived by uncles and aunts who loved him dearly, Michael (Alica Alvis) York; cousins, Weston York, Kiser Cunningham, and Brad (Kayla Russell) York of Athens, Ohio; and his part time babysitter, Kaitlynn York, of Shade, Ohio. Many other family members who he loved and enjoyed very much also survive him.
Besides Keatyn’s immediate family, he also left behind Daddy Josh's family who loved him very much.
Keatyn was preceded in death by his “Daddy Josh” Kauff of Shade, Ohio, great-grandparents, Charles E.R. and Linda A. York of Van Wert, Ohio, and great-grandfather, Jess E. Huston of Ohio City, Ohio.
Keatyn became a hero on June 10, 2018 as he became an organ and tissue donor that will help other children to run and play like he always enjoyed doing. Due to the generosity of his mother, his happy little heart, liver, and kidneys will live on within other children so their parents may not have to go through what Keatyn’s mother did. Just in case you didn’t know, he was not Pete, he was "Keatyn William York," according to him.
