Judith Sue Nogrady, 79, of Athens, peacefully died surrounded by family, Wednesday, October third at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born in a log cabin in Truetown, Ohio on July 23, 1939 to the late Frank and Thelma (Bescoe) Snyder, Judy graduated from Chauncey Dover High School in 1957 and later that year married the boy next door, her husband of forty years John Nogrady.
Creating a comfortable and happy family home was her focus and pleasure for many years. Later in life she became a hair stylist and owned a very nicely maintained rental property. A perfect day for Judy would be a scenic Autumn drive along Route 78, kids and grandkids in tow, with stops along the way for photos, pie and coffee at a mom and pop country diner and then a yard sale or auction hoping to add another antique or little piece of rusty gold to her collection.
She is survived by three children: Gary Mitchell (Rhonda) Nogrady of Fairborn, Ohio; daughter Shari (Eric) Hart of Pomeroy, Ohio and daughter Carol (Tom) Hanlon of Athens and three granddaughters, Melissa, Elizabeth and Sophia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Denzel, husband John and son John Gregory.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the many kind and skillful aides who provided excellent care in recent years. Services will be Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 5 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Bolin officiating. Friends may call on the family from 2PM until the time of service.
