Joseph Riley Bailey
RACINE—Joseph Riley Bailey went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease, as well as numerous illnesses.
He was born to Joseph Rex and Sina May Piggott on June 14, 1950, in Parkersburg, WV.
He has one brother, Larry Rex that survives.
He graduated from Eastern High School in the top of his class. He received his BA degree with honors in Ed. at Rio Grande College and went on to receive his Masters Degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Dayton. He began his teaching career at Eastern High School in 1972 for 26 years and ended his 38 year career at Meigs Local.
While attending high school, he met his true love that became his wife for 52 years, Louretta Kay Sargent. To this loving couple they had 2 amazing sons, Christopher Eric (Annika) and Beau Jarrod (Lacey).
Joe and Kay were very blessed with five grandchildren, namesake Peyton Riley, Ella Grace, Mia Sofie and twins, Brecken Christopher and Aspen Beatrice.
Joe was a member of the Alfred UM Church, where he loved to attend.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved in-laws, Charles and Marie Sargent; his beloved sister-in-law, Patricia Sargent Spencer and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be held a 1 P.M., Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor John Frank officiating. Burial will follow in the Chester Cemetery,
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, from 11 A.M. until time of service.
