John Dioguardi
John S. Giacomo Dioguardi, 81, of The Plains went to Heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at his residence.
He was born July 14, 1928 in Buffalo, NY son of the late Thomas and Angeline DiAnglo Dioguardi. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force where he served four years, and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of Athens American Legion K.T. Crossen Post 21, where he was past commander, a member of Athens and The Plains VFW Posts, and a member of 40/8, the Honor Guard and St. Paul's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Angeline Ziccardi Dioguardi; a beloved daughter and son-in-law, Nicolette Dioguardi and Earnie Putnam; 2 sons, Danny and John Dioguardi; 11 grandchildren, Chy Jeffery, Nick, Kelly, Ashlee, Stacey, Danny, Timothy, Steven, Adam and Christopher Dioguardi, and Stevie Putnam; 2 step-grandsons, Dustin and James Putnam; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom Syndey Dioguardi; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jim and Joe.
John's life was filled with love, laughter and generosity. He was devoted to God and country and loved everyone. See ya later alligator.
A memorial service will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens, OH with Msgr Patrick Gaughan officiating, followed by a military service conducted by the VFW and American Legion.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church with food to follow.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
