Johnny Horton

Johnny Lee Horton, 62, of Little Hocking, OH, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1949 in Parkersburg, WV son of the late Roy D. and Mary Ann McCune Horton.
John graduated from Sky View High School in 1968 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968- 1972, where he was stationed in England. He worked for Belpre Furniture from 1974 until his retirement in 2011.
John was a member of Faith Chapel Community Church where he enjoyed singing, praying over the Prayer Book and going to church functions. He also enjoyed stopping and talking with his neighbors and co-workers, his retirement, family-get-togethers, watching John Wayne movies and the Pittsburg Steelers.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Ann Travis Horton, whom he married on July 28, 1973; a daughter, Anita Jon Hall; a son, John Travis Horton; his sisters and brothers, Clyde Jennie Horton of Illinois, Dorothy Payne of Reno, OH, Charlotte Horton of Marietta, OH, Wilda Horton of Marietta, OH, Christine Robert Sturgeon of Belpre, OH, Sandy Marty Sullivan of Phelps, KY, Susan Horton of Parkersburg, WV, Roy Jr. Bobby Jo Horton of Marietta, OH, Joe Horton of Lowell, OH, Bridgett Horton of Marietta, OH; an uncle, Bill Lowe; aunts, Betty, Martha, Ida and Viel; his in-laws, Linda Harold Blazier and Kathy Randy Morris; and a lot of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Melissa Grove; a baby brother, Wilber; and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Rev. Bill Lowe officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Parkersburg, WV.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, from 6-8 P.M.
