John Qualls, 81, of Middleport, died Saturday July 28, 2018 at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport.
Born April 4, 1937 in Pomeroy, Ohio, he was the son of the late John Henry and Mary Elizabeth James Qualls. John was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Church of Living God in Columbus where he served on the usher board and was retired from PDK construction in Pomeroy and a member Local 543.
John is survived by 18 children, Debra, Nicole, Sean, Danitra (Hollis), Marnika, Todd, Gregory, John, Jason, John III, Tredeah, Royce, Alex, Amber, Shawna, John II, John IV, Kim and Robbie; one brother Robert (Julia) Qualls; three sisters Hazel Tolbert, Ellen Meeks and Mary K. (George) Blanks; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; an exwife Robin Qualls and a special cousin Sharon Buffington.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Monica; three brothers Terry, Paul, James; four sisters Kathryn, Betty, Patty, and Denise and by an exwife Agnes Qualls.
Funeral arrangements will at noon on Friday August 3, 2018 At Ewing-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Hollis Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in the Minersville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 10:00 AM till noon.
