John Wayne Jackson

ATHENS—John Wayne Jackson, 83, of Athens, OH, passed away Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at his residence. He was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Millfield, OH, son of the late John Wesley and Evelyn Jean Nance Jackson. John was a U.S. Navy Veteran, an avid motorcycle racer and a retired truck driver. John is survived by 3 sons, Kirt and Bonnie Jackson, Gregory Jackson and Anthony and Jennifer Jackson; 4 grandchildren, Wesley, Tyler, Anthony II and Christopher Jackson and 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler Scott Jackson and Caylynn Brooke Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Dustin William Jackson and 2 brothers, Charles Jackson and James Jackson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens, OH. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Albany VFW Post 9893 and the American Legion Post 21.
