John G. Forsyth

CHAUNCEY – John G Forsyth, 65, of Chauncey, Ohio, passed away early Friday morning, June 11, 2021 at his home after a brief battle with cancer.

Born April 7, 1956 in Chauncey, Ohio, he was the son of the late Donald G and Frances Bradshaw Forsyth.

He retired from Ohio University after 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and grandchildren, hunting and fishing.

John is survived by his cherished daughter, Amanda Forsyth; two grandchildren, Dakin Chadwell and Sevon Altop; a brother, Dan (Tracie) Forsyth; four sisters-in-law, Linda Forsyth, Penny Forsyth, Joyce (Don) Stutler, Lisa (Guard) Dickens; a brother-in-law, David (Theresa) Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife on May 2, 2021 Pauley Forsyth; three brothers, Jessie, Terry and Bill who died June 4, 2021; his mother-in-law, Pauline Smith; his father-in-law, Maywood Smith.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for expenses. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery. Per his request, no services will be observed.
