Jo Ann Carpenter, 70, of Belpre, OH passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at Hickory Creek of Athens.
She was born Jan. 17, 1940 in Long Bottom, OH daughter of the late William and Forrest Smith Doherty.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Beckie and Todd Cale, Bonnie and Jeff McKibben; 3 sons, Robert and Nancy Carpenter, John Carpenter and Charles Clinton Carpenter Jr.; 5 sisters, Alma and Dale Myers, Lucille Walker, Janet and Dick Sams, Linda Drain and Evelyn Powell; a brother, Charles "Larry" Doherty; and 11 grandchildren, Landon, Mason and Ashton Cale, Hannah and Riley McKibben, Brian and Bobby Carpenter, Haley and Wesley Carpenter, Chaz and Cameron Carpenter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Carpenter; a son, Willis Doherty; a grandson, Austin Cale; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Rev. George Horner officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of service.
