J.M. "Skip" Coppola

ATHENS – J.M. “Skip” Coppola, 71, of Athens, died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home.

Born February 4, 1947 in Brunswick, Georgia, he was the son of Eguardo Coppola and the late Gloria Izzo Coppola.

He was the owner and operator of The Subtle Bug in The Plains and a US Army Vietnam Veteran.

He is survived by three children, Lucy (Brian) Sample, Chris Coppola, Ben Coppola; four grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and three siblings, Marty, Mike and Barb.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce.

Per his request, he will be cremated and his cremains will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where friends and family may sign the online guestbook at our website, www.hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.
