Jean Mickey Marlowe VanMeter Fitch, 74, of 55595 St. Rt. 124, Portland, OH passed away Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 23, 1933 in Portland, OH, Meigs County, daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Ada Holter VanMeter. She was a lifetime resident of Portland and was a retired nurse with 30 years of service. She worked in long term care and counsulting for Health Care Managment of Dayton.
She is survived by her husband Charles Hobert Fitch whom she married Dec. 22, 1948; her children, Mary Dailey and Keith Cindy Fitch; her grandchildren, Bryan Missy Dailey, Benny Dailey, Thomas Tammy Fitch, April Fitch Doug Pound, Jason Fitch and his friend, Jenny and Nicholas Fitch and his friend, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Bryannah Dailey, Sianna Pound, Noah Pound Kierstien Noelle Fitch, Amaryl Pound and Maelynnah Marlowe Dailey, the loves of my life, these 6 great-grandchildren helped me thru each day; a sister, Sharlee Evans; brothers, Ronald Mac Jean VanMeter and Elden VanMeter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Michael Fitch; two brothers, Harold VanMeter and Dorsel Keith VanMeter; a sister, Geraldene Northway; a son-in-law, Blaine Dailey and a brother-in-law, Michael Evans.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.
