Jamie Allen Burleigh, 44 of Millfield, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital—Athens. Born December 7, 1979 in Athens, he was the adopted son of Mary P. Sharpe & Charles A. Burleigh and the biological son of Alberta Sue Burleigh Brooks. Jamie was a man who enjoyed the life of simplicity and being home with his beloved family. He was a very talented mechanic and was previously employed at the United States Postal Service as a truck driver. Besides his family, his passion revolved around firearms and his truck.
Jamie is survived by his adoptive mother, Mary P. Sharpe Burleigh; biological mother, Alberta Sue Burleigh Brooks; mother-in-law, Susan Mitchell; wife, Beth Ingold Burleigh; children, Jamie Burleigh, II, Tyler Burleigh; siblings, Jennifer Burleigh; Mathew (Mary Wetzel) Burleigh, Amy (Justin) Thomason; sister-in-law, Amanda (Joe Vonschriltz) Ingold; brother-in-law, Ben Mitchell; nieces, Nicole Willison, Savannah Willison, Jasmine Burleigh, Alison Burleigh, Autumn Burleigh, Megan Budnick; nephews, Jacob Thomason, Riley Thomason, Johnathon Budnick; and special friends, Richard Simms, Zoey Simms and Sean McLean.
He is preceded in death by his adoptive father, Charles A. Burleigh, 2020; uncle, Charles A. Burleigh, Jr., 1959; niece, Sophia M. Sheets, 2013; and his beloved dog, Tank.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where cremation will take place. Inurnment at Burson Cemetery will be held at a later date. The family request contributions be made out to the funeral home to assist with end-of-life expenses.
